Minutes of the March 6, 2014, Apple Valley Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee.
PRESENT: Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee Chair Lee Strom; Committee Secretary
Patrick Sullivan; Committee Members Noel Hammill, Cindy Hart, Boyd Montgomery, and Brenton
Schulz; Parks and Recreation Director Barry Bernstein; Parks Superintendent Tom Adamini;
Valleywood Golf Course Manager Jim Zinck; Department Assistant Dorene Perkins Monn; one
member of the public.
ABSENT: Kanika Gupta
ITEM 1. Committee Chair Strom called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
ITEM 2. Approval of Agenda
MOTION: by Sullivan, seconded by Hammill to approve the agenda as presented.
VOTE: Yes—6, No —0
Audience— 10 Minutes Total Time Limit— For Items Not on the Agenda
Chair Strom invited anyone present wishing to bring an item not on the agenda up for discussion
to please step forward.
No one stepped forward.
ITEM 4. Approval of the January 2, 2014, Minutes.
MOTION: by Sullivan, seconded by Hammill, to approve the January 2, 2014,
meeting minutes as presented.
VOTE: Yes—6, No —0
ITEM 5.A. Agenda Items — Introduction of New Committee Member Boyd Montgomery
Chair Strom made the introduction and issued a welcome to Mr. Montgomery. Mr. Montgomery
gave a review of his background and qualifications.
ITEM 5.B. Agenda Items— Cobblestone Lake Pier

Director Bernstein presented history, options going forward, and conceptual styles for potential
replacement of the pier.
MOTION: by Schulz, seconded by Sullivan, recommending staff send out
Cobblestone Lake Pier Replacement Requests for Proposal with a
return deadline of March 28, 2014.
VOTE: Yes—6, No—0
ITEM 5.C. Agenda Items—Election of Committee Officers
By majority vote of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee, Lee Strom was elected
Chair and Patrick Sullivan was elected Secretary.
ITEM 6. Adjourn
There being no further business, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee meeting was
adjourned.
MOTION: by Sullivan, seconded by Hammitt, to adjourn the meeting at 7:41 p.m.
VOTE: Yes—6, No—0
