Minutes of the March 6, 2014, Apple Valley Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee.
PRESENT: Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee Chair Lee Strom; Committee Secretary
Patrick Sullivan; Committee Members Noel Hammill, Cindy Hart, Boyd Montgomery, and Brenton
Schulz; Parks and Recreation Director Barry Bernstein; Parks Superintendent Tom Adamini;
Valleywood Golf Course Manager Jim Zinck; Department Assistant Dorene Perkins Monn; one
member of the public.

ITEM 1. Committee Chair Strom called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

meeting minutes as presented.

ITEM 5.A. Agenda Items — Introduction of New Committee Member Boyd Montgomery
Chair Strom made the introduction and issued a welcome to Mr. Montgomery. Mr. Montgomery
gave a review of his background and qualifications.

Director Bernstein presented history, options going forward, and conceptual styles for potential
replacement of the pier.
MOTION: by Schulz, seconded by Sullivan, recommending staff send out
Cobblestone Lake Pier Replacement Requests for Proposal with a
return deadline of March 28, 2014.
VOTE: Yes — 6, No — 0
ITEM 5.C. Agenda Items — Election of Committee Officers
By majority vote of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee, Lee Strom was elected
Chair and Patrick Sullivan was elected Secretary.
ITEM 6. Adjourn
There being no further business, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee meeting was
adjourned.

DEKHOCKEY IS PLAYED ON A 100'x50' SURFACE
AND TYPICALLY INVOLVES A 3 VS. 3 STYLE OF PLAY,
PLUS THE GOALIE. THE GAME IS PLAYED ON FOOT
USING AN OFFICIAL DEK BALL.
PLAYERS MUST OBEY THE FOLLOWING RULES:

Dekhockey is a form of off ice hockey, played on a special sport court surface in tennis shoes.
The rink is constructed of hockey boards 100' x 50' surrounded by fencing, equipped with
players benches and a scorebox.
