TO: Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee
FROM: Tom Adamini, Parks Superintendent

SUBJECT: Park Dedication Expenditure
Seven years ago, when Quarry Point Park athletic complex was built, it was equipped with a
septic tank system. Taking into consideration the infrastructure of the area and costs involved,
it was the best option at the time. However, long range planning identified connection to the
sanitary sewer system as development in the area around the park occurred.
That time has come. Developments are occurring and sewer connections are becoming
accessible in the area. The Park Dedication Fund currently stands at approximately $500,000.
Staff proposes appropriating $40,000 of the funds to install a sanitary sewer system at Quarry
Point Park.
For comparison reference, in the past four years the use of the complex has been large enough
that the annual septic pumping charges average $10,000.00. If the Parks and Recreation
Advisory Committee considers the sanitary sewer connection to be an appropriate expenditure
of Park Dedication funds, the following motion would be in order.
Motion: Recommending staff authorization to expend Park Dedication Funds for
the purpose of a sanitary sewer connection for Quarry Point Park.
