Minutes of the special meeting of the City Council of Apple Valley, Dakota County,
Minnesota, held pursuant to due call and notice thereof on November 29, 1979, at
11:00 o'clock a.m. at the City Hall.
PRESENT: Councilmembers Holton, Kelly, Overgard and Savanick; Clerk Asleson.
ABSENT: Mayor Garrison.
Acting Mayor Holton called the meeting to order at 11:00 a.m. Mr. Asleson said four
bids had been received for the two bond issues offered for sale by the City and he
opened and read them as follows: For the $1,505,000 General Obligation Temporary
Bonds, Piper, Jaffrey & Hopwood with a net interest rate of 6.845 percent; and First
National BAnk of St. Paul with a net interest rate of 6.866 percent. For the
$430,000 General Obligation Bonds, First National Bank of St. Paul with a net interest
rate of 6.8394 percent; and Piper, Jaffrey & Hopwood with a net interest rate of 6.9395.
Mr. Steve Mattson then reviewed the bid tabulations.
MOTION:
of Overgard, seconded by Savanick, adopting Resolution No. 1979-
182 awarding the purchase of a snow removing machine, Vee Plow
and Reversible Plow to Road Machinery & Supplies Company, the
low bidder, of a Bombardier machine, in the total amount of
$19,211.00. Ayes - 3 - Nays - 1 (Kelly).

Mr. Mattson said the bids for the bond issues were correct and he recommended awards
to the respective low bidders.

of Kelly, seconded by 0vergard, adopting Resolution No. 1979-
183 awarding the sale of $1,505,000 General Obligation Tempor-
ary Bonds to Piper, Jaffrey & Hopwood, the low bidder, with a
net interest rate of 6.845 percent. Ayes - 4 - Nays - 0.

184 awarding the sale of $430,000 General Obligation Bonds to
First National Bank of St. Paul, the low bidder, with a net
interest rate of 6.8394 percent. Ayes - 4 - Nays - 0.
MOTION: of Overgard, seconded by Savanick, to adjourn. Ayes - 4 - Nays - 0.
