HomeMy WebLinkAbout05/25/1978SPCCITY OF APPLE VALLEY Dakota County, Minnesota May 25, 1978 Minutes of the special meeting of the City Council of the City of Apple Valley, Dakota County, Minnesota, held May 25, 1978, at 6:30 p.m., pursuant to due call and notice thereof. PRESENT: Mayor Branning and Councilmembers Fitzsimmons, Hayes, Holton and Savanick. ABSENT: None. OTHERS PRESENT: City Clerk Asleson, Police Chief Corrigan, City Attorney McMenomy, Dwayne F. Bronk, Larry Severson and George Morrow, Attorneys for Dwayne F. Bronk, and Reporters for the Dakota County Tribune and Apple Valley Free Press as well as several members of the public. Mayor Branning called the meeting to order at 6:39 o'clock p.m. and explained that the meetings purpose was to consider a motion filed by Mr. Severson requesting the Council to order the City of Apple Valley through its respective agents to answer interrogatories previously served upon said City of Apple Valley's Attorney, Edward B. McMenomy, on April 18, 1978, related to the employment termination of Dwayne F. Bronk. Immediately prior to the meeting, Mr. Severson distributed to members of the Council a brief related to his motion. The City Council had previously been furnished with a copy of the ~terrogatories and the response of Mr. MeMenomy dated May 24, 1978. Oral statements were then made, in succession, by Mr. Severson, Mr. McMenomy and Mr. Morrow. Mr. McMenomy then requested that the City Council take the matter under advisement and at a subsequent date issue its written order and decision with the provision that Mr. Severson and he be allowed to submit additional written information. Mr. Severson indicated that this procedure was agreeable to him. The Council said they would proceed in this manner. MOTION: of Holton, seconded by Savanick to adjourn. Ayes - 5 - Nays - 0. The meeting was adjourned at 7:18 o'clock p.m.
