HomeMy WebLinkAbout07/06/1978CITY OF APPLE VALLEY Dakota County, Minnesota July 6, 1978 Minutes of the special meeting of the City Council of Apple Valley, Dakota County, Minnesota held July 6th, at 7:00 o'clock p.m. PRESENT: Mmyor Branning; Councilmembers Fitzsimmons, Hayes, Holton and Savanick (attended at 7:18 p.m.); Deputy Clerk Mueller. ABSENT: None. Mayor Branning called the meeting to order at 7:08 p.m. He said the purpose of the meet- ing was to consider industrial revenue bond financing for the golf course clubhouse. The Mayor read a letter from Syverson Mortgage Services, Inc., stating there are still legal matters to be resolved before the financing can be approved and requesting the Council consider this at its regular meeting on July 13th, 1978. At this time the Mayor granted an interview to KSTP-TV concerning the private deliberations to be held by the Council tonight. He also answered questions from reporters of the Apple Valley Free Press and Dakota County Tribune. Councilmember Savanick arrived at this time. The Mayor then announced the Council would be going into private session to consider whether the City Attorney should answer interrogatories prepared by Larry Saverson, the attorney for Dwayne Bronk. Kathy Weesner stated that she objected to the Council's private session. Councilmembers Hayes, Holton and Savanick and Mayor Branning went into the private deliberations at 7:20 p.m. and Councilmember Fitzsimmons left at this time. Council- member Savanick objected to starting at 7:20 p.m. instead of 7:30 p.m. as advertised. The Mayor and Councilmembers Hayes, Holton and Savanick reconvened in the Council Chambers at 9:24 p.m. MOTION: of Hayes, seconded by Holton, to adjourn. Ayes - 4 - Nays - 0. The meeting was adjourned at 9:25 o'clock p.m.
