HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/19/1977CITY OF APPLE VALLEY Dakota County, Minnesota April 19, 1977 Minutes of the special meeting of the City Council of the City of Apple Valley, Dakota County, Minnesota held April 19, 1977 pursuant to due call and notice thereof at 7:00 o'clock a.m. PRESENT: Mayor Branning; Councilmembers Fitzaimmons, Hayes, Holton, and Savanick; Clerk Asleson. ABSENT: None. Mayor Branning called the meeting to order at 7:09 o'clock a.m. Mayor Branning explained that the purpose of this meeting was to review the Metropolitan Council's System Statement. The City Clerk advised that yesterday he had had a telephone conversation with a Metropolitan Council staff member who indicated that the sixty day period that municipalities have to formally appeal their Systems Statement is computed from the date it is received which in Apple Valley's case was February 2, 1977 and that of the Apple Valley City Council desires to formally appeal the Systems Statement that official action on April 28, 1977 would be consideredtimely. The Council reviewed in detail the staff prepared draft resolution, the intent of which was to provide supporting logic related to Apple Valley's concerns related to the Systems Statement language; most of such concerns being essentially minor in nature. The Council directed the staff to prepare for consideration by the City Council at its regular meeting on April 28, 1977, specific suggested wording changes to the Systems Statement itself for consideration by the City Council. MOTION: of Hayes, seconded by Savanick to adjourn. Ayes - 5 - Nays - 0. The meeting was adjourned at 8:10 o'clock a.m.
