HomeMy WebLinkAbout07/16/1975CITY 0FAPPLE VALLEY Dakota County~ Minnesota July 16, 1975 Minutes of a special meeting of the City Council of Apple Valley~ Dakota County, Minnesota, set at the July 9, 1975, regular meeting, held July 16, 1975, at ?:00 p.m. PRESENT: Councilmen Branning, Garrison, Holton and Hayes (attended at 7:05 p.m.); Clerk Asleson. ABSENT: Mayor Largen. Acting Mayor Branning called the meeting to order at 7:00 o'clock p.m. MOTION: of Holton, seconded by Garrison, appointing Howard Dahlgren, Burnsville's City Planner, as the joint representative for Apple Valley and REPRESENTATIVE Burnsville on the subcommittee reviewing uncompleted segments of 35E ON TRANS. of the Metropolitan Council's Transportation Advisory Board with the ADVISORY BOARD cost to be shared. Ayes - 3 - Nays - O. Councilman Hayes attended at this time. MOTION: of Garrison, seconded by Holton, adopting Resolution No. 1975-93 AWARD SEAL awarding the 1975 street seal coating project to Blacktop Construct- COAT BID __ ion co., the low bidder, in the amount of $13,992.00. Ayes - 4 - Nays - 0. MOTION: of Garrison, seconded by Hayes, extending the completion date on the EXTEND GOLF golf course contract with Rehbein Bros. to August l, 1975, for the COURSE CONTRACT_ irrigation system and August 15, 1975~ for the seeding. Ayes - 4 - Nays - O. MOTION: of Hayes, seconded by Holton, direction the Engineer to prepare a preliminary engineering report for public improvements in the Muir development at the southeast corner of County Road 4R and Cedar. Ayes - 4 - Nays - O. PRELIM. REPORT MUIR DEVELOPMENT MOTION: of Holton, seconded by Hayes, authorizing spending up to $1,300.00 SEWER PLAN for the Engineer to prepare an update on storm sewer and sanitary REVIEWS sewer plans for the Long and Farquar lakes area and study street pro- blems in the Woods Addition; this report to be received at the August 13th meeting. Ayes - 4 - Nays - O. Councilman Garrison asked the staff to con~ider having the Engineer do a review of the entire City's Master Sewer Plan and bring it up-to-date. MOTION: of Garrison, seconded by Holton, approving a transient merchant license for George Mahowald to sell farm produce. Ayes - 4 - Nays - Oo MAHOWALD TRANS. MERC. LICENSE The City Clerk co~mmented on the request of Mr. and Mrs. Hagedorn for a liquor "setup" permit for dances at the Rollerway. They are eligible for such a permit if th~ Council approves and the State Liquor Control Commissioner approves it, but such permits cannot be issued when dance permits are issued. This item was tabled until July 23rd and referred to the City Attorney for his opinion. Discussion of the Wildwood area was tabled by request of the residents of the area. MOTION: of Holton, seconded by Hayes, to adjourn. Ayes - 4 - Nays - 0. The meeting was adjourned at 7:24 o'clock p.m.
