Minutes of a special meeting of the City Council of Apple Valley, Dakota County,
Minnesota, held November 6, 1974, at 7:00 o'clock p.m. The meeting was set October
23, 1974.
PRESENT: Mayor Largen, Councilmen Branning, Cozine, Garrison and Holton; Clerk Asleson.
ABSENT: NONE.
Mayor Largen called the meeting to order at 7:00 o'clock p.m.
MOTION: of Holton, seconded by Cozine, adopting Resolution No. 1974-184 RES. 1974-184
cancassing the returns of the November 5, 1974, State, County ELECTION
and City General Election and Special City Bond Election elect- CANVASS
lng Julian A. Hayes, Jr., to the City Council, approving bond
election question I and failing bond election question 2~
Ayes - 5 - Nays - O.
MOTION: of Garrison, seconded by Branning, approving a 1974 sand and gravel EXCAVATION
excavation permit for Shakopee Sand and Gravel Company. Ayes -5 PERMIT FOR

MOTION: of Holton, seconded by Garrison, authorizing the Police Depart- BLUE UNIFORMS
ment to purchase new uniforms in blue during 1975 subject to FOR POLICE &

MOTION: of Cozine, seconded by Branning, amending the previous motion

Vote was then taken on the original motion as follows: Ayes- 4
Nays - 1 (Cozine).
MOTION: of Garrison, seconded by Branning, authorizing the staff to APPRAISE FIRE
obtain professional appraisals on two proposed fire hall sites, HALL SITES
one on the corner of Hayes Road and County Road 42 and the
other on the site east of the Carroll farm building site.
Ayes - 5 - Nays - O.
MOTION: of Cozine, seconded by Branning, approving a transient merch-
ant licehse for the Boy Scout Club to sell wreathes, subject
to obtaining the pack number of the club. Ayes - 5 - Nays - O.

MOTION: of Cozine, seconded by Holton, to pay the claims and bills,
checks numbered 12021 through 12029, in the total amount of
$14,879.20. Ayes - 5 - Nays - O.
MOTION: of Branning, seconded by Holton, to adjourn. Ayes ~ 5 - Nays - 0.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:35 o'clock pm.
