HomeMy WebLinkAbout1973/08/29VILLAGE OF APPLE VALLEY Dakota County, Minnesota Minutes of the meeting of the Village Council, Village of Apple Valley, Dakota County, Minnesota held August 29, 1973. PRESENT: Mayor Largen; Councilmen Branning, Goodoien, and Pearsall; Clerk Asleson ABSENT: Councilman Garrison The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Bids on $920,000 Temporary Improvement Bonds and $60,000 G.O. Bonds received and the fiscal agent took them for tabulation. MOTION: of Goodoien, seconded by Pearsall, to approve the minutes of the meeting of August 1, 1973, as amended. Ayes - 4 - Nays O. MOTION: of Branning, seconded by Goodoien, to approve the quit claim deed of property (the old Pennock alignment at County Road 42) to Grace Lutheran Church with the Church granting an easement for the new alignment and setback require- ments for future building(s) on the site erected by the church shall be determined based on the old alignment. Ayes - 4 - Nays - 0. July Treasurer's report received. MOTION: of Goodoien, seconded by Pearsall, to grant the exqavation permit to Apple Valley Baptist Church noting the deletion of the Southern driveway as shown in the plan. Ayes - 4 - Nays - 0. MOTION: of Pearsall, seconded by Goodoien, to accept the Aetna bid for employees medical insurance coverage, in the best interest of the Village. Ayes - 4 - Nays - 0. The fiscal agent completed the tabulation of the bonds and read them for the Council. MOTION: of Pearsall, seconded by Branning, to pass Resolution 1973-151, awarding the bid to First National Bank of St. Paul, the low bidder at a net interest rate of 5.490%. Ayes - 4 - Nays - 0. MOTION: of Goodoien, seconded by Branning, to pass Resolution 1973-152, awarding the bid to Piper, Jaffrey & Hopwood, the low bidder, at a net interest rate of 5.9384%. Ayes - 4 - Nays - 0. MOTION: of Goodoien, seconded by Branning, to pass Resolution 1973-153, authorizing the Engineer to advertise for bids for trunk water and sewer on Pilot Knob Road, Proj. 73-50, to be taken on 10-2-73 at 2:00 p.m. Ayes - 4- Nays - 0. MOTION:of Pearsall, seconded by Goodoien, to pass Resolution 1973-154, authorizing the Engineer to prepare plans and specs for Outlet C, Apple Valley East, Ayes - 4 - Nays - O. MOTION: of Branning, seconded by Pearsall, to authorize issuance of a non-intoxicating liquor license to the Apple Valley Jaycees during the Apple Valley Days Celebration. Ayes - 4 - Nays - O. MOTION: of Pearsall, seconded by Branning, to pass Resolution 1973-155, approving the plans and specs for 132nd Street street improvements, Ayes - 3 - Nays - 1 (Goodoien) MOTION: of Pearsall, seconded by Branning, to pass Resolution 1973-156, authorizing the Engineer to advertise for bids for above improvement, to be taken on October 2, 1973 at 2:00 p.m. Ayes - 3 - Nays - 1 (Goodoien) MOTION: of Branning, seconded by Pearsall, to authorize the Engineer to prepare a preliminary report on the cul-de-sac off Surrey Trail to Lots 1 and 2. Ayes - 4 - Nays - 0. MOTION: of Pearsall, seconded by Branning, to pay the claims and bills, check #7257 thru #7304, in the amount of $31,518.49. Ayes - 4 - Nays - 0.
