HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972/07/19VILLAGE OF APPLE VALLEY Dakota County, Minnesota Minutes of the meeting of the Village Council, Village of Apple Valley, Dakota County, Minnesota held July 19 1972., · PRESENT: Mayor Largen; Councilmen Garrison, Hollenbeck, Branning and Pearsall; Clerk Asleson ABSENT: None The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. MOTION: of Garrison, sgconded by Hollenbeck, to approve the minutes of the meeting of JulY 5, 1972 as read. Ayes - 5 - Nays - 0. 1971 Audit Report, presented by Harry Larson of Ernst & Ernst. Liquor Statement for 6 months ended June 30, 1972 received and discussed. Mr. Stenderson was present and was commended by the Council on the results of the stores operations to date. MOTION: of Branning, seconded by Garrison, to grant issuance of transient merchant's license to the Dakota County Tribune. Ayes - 5 - Nays - O. P.U.D., Preliminary Plat and M-2 zoning proposal- Winkler property. John Voss explained. Discussion between Council, Planning Commission and Mr.Winkler. MOTION: of Garrison, seconded by Hollenbeck, to accept the PlAnning Commission's recommendation as to the 6.5 units per acre on the Northern portion of the property and pass 0rdiance # 115, rezoning this to M-2 P.U.D., and to rezone the Southern portion to M-3 P.U.D., with the maximum of 14 units per acre. Ayes - 5 - Nays - 0. Golf Course Presentation -- Taken under advisement by the CounCil. ' MOTION: of Hollenbeck, seconded by Pearsall, to pass Resolution 1972-113, setting a public hearing for August 16, 1972 for the Mobil 0il Company petition. Ayes - 5 - Nays - O. MOTION: of Garrison, seconded by Hollenbeck, to pass Resolution 1972-114, setting a public hearing for August 16, for the roller rink proposal. Ayes - 5 - Nays - 0. June water and sewer report received. June Police report received. July 14 payroll report received. June 30 Treasurer's Cash Report received. Jerry Bell discussed a salary increase for the three park equipment employees. He recommends a 25~ per hour increase. MOTION: of Pearsall, seconded by Branning, to grant the 25~ increase. Ayes - 5 - Nays - O. Expenditure of $50.00 approved for the repair of the gate outlet for the fish rearing pond in Alimagnet Park. VILLAGE OF APPLE VALLEY Dakota County, Minnesota Page 2 Councilman Hollenbeck requested John Gretz contact the attorney about Mr. Hogan's garage on 7-20-72. MOTION: of Hollenbeck, seconded by Pearsall, to rehire Gene Glenn at $3.75 per hour for work on assessments and as needed for other items. Ayes - 5 - Nays - O. Motion: of Hollenbeck, seconded by Branning to pay the claims and bills: check # 4456 through # 4503, in'amoUnt of $41,394.B1. Ayes 5 Nays O. MOTION: of Hollenbeck, seconded by Pearsall, to adjourn.
