Minutes of the meeting of the Village Council Village of Apple Valley Dakota County,
Minnesota held August 16, 1972.
PRESENT: Mayor Largen; Councilmen Branning, Hollenbeck, Pearsall and Garrison; Clerk
Asleson
ABSENT: None
The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
Minutes
MOTION: of Pearsall, seconded by Hollenbeck, to approve the minutes of the meeting of
August 2nd as written. Ayes - 5 - Nays - 0.
MOTION: of Branning seconded by Garrison to approve the minutes of the meeting of
July 26th as written. Ayes - 3 - Nays - 0 (Pearsall and Hollenbeck abstained)
MOTION: of Garrison seconded by Pearsall, to pass Resolution 1972-125, appointing the
judges for the election of September 12, 1972. Ayes - 5 - Nays - 0.
Dakota County Traffic Engineer- status report on Cedar and County Road 42 intersection,
presented by Ken Anderson.
MOTION: of Hollenbeck, seconded by Garrison, to pay the claims and bills; check #4678
thru #4687, in the amount of $89,135.90. Ayes - 5 - Na~ - 0.
The Administrator explained that the Village would be losing one police officer on
September 1st He would like authorization to advertise for an officer with experience.
MOTION: of Hollenbeck, seconded by Pearsall, to authorize advertisement for an exper-
ienced police officer. Ayes - 5 - Nays - 0.
J. Bell requested approval from the Council to sod football field at Southview-Valley
Junior High, as part of the joint work with the school district. Approved by Council.
P.C.A. - proposed amendment to APC-15 - received.
Metro Council- transportation hearings notice - received.
Metro Council - 1973 Council Work program notice - received.
July Water and Sewer Report - received.
Public Hearing- Conditional Use Permit Mobil Oil Corp. Mayor read affidavit of public-
ation and called the hearing to order at 8:15 p.m. The planner located the property
on the map and the Engineer discussed street and frontage road. Ken Anderson commented
on the driveway entrances. Tom Allen of Mobil Oil discussed the plans with the Council.
There being no further discussion, the hearing was declared closed at 8:50 p.m.
Public Hearing- Conditional Use Permit Roller Rink. Mayor read affidavit of publication
and called the hearing to order at 8:50 p.m. The planning consultant described the
location on the map. Mr. Conrad Stordahl, representing Dick and Sue Hagedorn, presented
the proposal to the Council and Planning Commission. There being no further discussion,
the hearing was declared closed at 9:30 p.m.
MOTION: of Hollenbeck, seconded by Pearsall, to adjourn. Unanimously carried.
