Minutes of the special meeting of the Village Council Village of Apple Valley
Dakota County Minnesota, held on December 30, 1971.
PRESNET: Mayor Largen, Councilmen Pearsall and Garrison, Clerk Asleson.
ABSENT: Councilmen Branning and Hollenbeck.
Mayor Largen called the meeting to order at 7:45 a.m.
MOTION: of Garrison seconded by Pearsall, to change the rezoning hearing for the
Oscar Roberts property from 8:00 o'clock p.m. January 19, 1972 to 8:00
o'clock p.m. February 2, 1972. Those in favor Largen, Pearsall and
Garrison opposed - none. Motion carried.
The Clerk presented a revised resolution regarding the tax levy and explained that
the previous resolution adopted on December 14th exceeded the limit as provided by
the 1971 legislature by $659.00 and requested that the Council adopt a revised
resolution so that Apple Valley is within the levy limitations.
MOTION: of Pearsall seconded by Garrison to pass Resolution No. 1971-122 a
resolution recertifying the Village of Apple Valley tax levy for taxes
collectible in 1972. All members voted in favor. Motion carried.
MOTION: of Pearsall seconded by Garrison, to approve changing the Village of
Apple Valley payroll system from a semi-monthly basis to a bi-weekly basis
as explained by the Clerk. All members voted in favor. Motion carried.
MOTION: of Garrison seconded by Pearsall, to allow because of a fire at 932
Duchess the parking of a mobile home on the property for a temporary period
not to exceed 90 days while repairs are being made to the home at that
address. Said permission granted under the hardship clause of the mobile
home ordinance. All members voted in favor. Motion carried.
MOTION: of Pearsall seconded by Garrison to approve the disbursements of checks
numbered 3251 through 3271 in the total amount of $48,866.10. All members
voted in favor. Motion carried.
MOTION: of Largen, seconded by Pearsall, to approve a transient merchant license
forthe Valley Athletic Association for a period of five years for the
purpose of selling various raffle tickets subject to proper completion of
the application and payment of fee. All members voted in favor. Motion
carried.
MOTION: of Garrison, seconded by Pearsall to cancel the regular Council meeting
of January 19, 1972. Ail members voted in favor. Motion carried.
MOTION: of Pearsall, seconded by Garrison to adjourn the meeting. All members
voted in favor. Motion carried.
