Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chair Arthur Zimmerman. Members Present: John Bermel, Linda Dolan, Charles Grawe, Fred Puente, Matt Saam, Arthur Zimmerman Members Absent: Joe Shaw Consultants/Alternates Present: Brandon Anderson, City Engineer Others Present: Rick Holtz 2. Approval of Agenda MOTION: Ms. Dolan moved, second by Mr. Grawe to approve the agenda as presented. Motion passed 6-0. 3. Audience Items A resident expressed concern about vehicle noise on County Road 46 between Diamond Path and Pilot Knob Road. He suggested lowering the speed limit or adding a stop signal at Diamond Path. The Committee explained the City's efforts to control speeds on the roadways. The Committee also noted that the State of Minnesota sets the speed limits on roadways and Dakota County controls the installation and maintenance of traffic controls on its roadways. 4. Approval of January 10, 2018 Minutes MOTION: Mr. Saam moved, second by Mr. Bermel, to approve the Minutes of January 10, 2018. Motion passed 5-0. (Ms. Dolan abstained.) 5A. There were no regular agenda items. 6A.Other Traffic Concerns Communicated to the City of Apple Valley Police Concerns In follow-up to a concern from the previous month, Mr. Bermel reported that the Department's commercial vehicle inspector(CVI) had patrolled Garden View north of County Road 42, but did not observe any commercial vehicles using the roadway. Mr. Bermel said the Department is seeking methods to increase stop-light enforcement city-wide, but also specifically on Cedar Avenue. Public Works Concerns Mr. Saam said the City is investigating the feasibility of flashing yellows on the traffic light at Garden View Drive and 1401' Street. 6B.Educational Issues and Grant Opportunities There will be a Toward Zero Deaths meeting in the Metro area on April I81h. The Minnesota conference will be October 23rd and 24h. 7. Adjourn MOTION: Mr. Puente moved, second by Mr. Bermel, to adjourn. Motion passed 6 - 0. Meeting was adjourned at 7:28 p.m.
