Minutes of the special meeting of the City Council of Apple Valley, Dakota County, Minnesota,
held November 5th, 1998, at 6:00 o’clock p.m., at Apple Valley City Hall.
PRESENT: Councilmember s Erickson, Goodwin, Grendahl, and Sterling.
ABSENT: Mayor Humphrey.
City staff members present were: City Clerk Mueller, City Attorney Sheldon, Assistant to the
City Administrator Grawe, and Community Development Director Kelley.
Acting Mayor Erickson called the meeting to order at 6:03 p.m.
MOTION: of Goodwin, seconded by Grendahl, approving the agenda for tonight’s meeting as
presented. Ayes - 4 - Nays - 0.
CANVASS OF ELECTION RETURNS
Resolution No. 1998-207
MOTION: of Goodwin, seconded by Grendahl, adopting
canvassing the returns of the November 3, 1998, City General and Special
Elections and declaring that Mary Hamann-Roland was elected Mayor for a four-
year term commencing January 4, 1999; Robert Erickson and Virginia Sterling
were elected Councilmembers for four-year terms commencing January 4, 1998;
and Ruth Grendahl was elected Councilmember to fill the vacancy for the
remainder of a term expiring December 31, 2000. Ayes - 4 - Nays - 0.
MOTION: of Goodwin, seconded by Sterling, to adjourn. Ayes - 4 - Nays - 0.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:08 o’clock p.m.
