LEBANON CEMETERY ADVISORY COMMITTEE
October 16, 2018
Minutes of the regular meeting of the Lebanon Cemetery Advisory Committee of Apple Valley,
Dakota County, Minnesota, held October 16, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Apple Valley Municipal Center.
PRESENT: Nancy Anderson, Tim Anderson, David Brueshoff, Tanya Grawe, Jay Hoekstra,
Dave Kemp, Alan Kohls
ABSENT: Public Works Director Matt Saam
City staff inembers present were: City Engineer Brandon Anderson, Cemetery Supervisar Mike
Glewwe, and Cemetery/Public Works Coordinator Cheryl Groves.
CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 2:01 p.m.by Chair Kohls.
1. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
MOTION: of T. Anderson, seconded by D. Kemp, approving the agenda for today's meeting as
corrected—removal of item D. General Price list. Motion passed unanimously.
2. AUDIENCE— 10 MINUTES TOTAL TIME LIMIT FOR ITEMS NOT ON THIS AGENDA
There was no one present to speak.
3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES—April 17, 2018
MOTION: of D. Brueshoff, seconded by D. Kemp, approving the minutes of the April 17, 2018,
meeting as written with one correction. Motion passed unanimously.
4. NEW/CONTINUED BUSINESS .
A. Cemetery Improvement Updates
Brandon Anderson, City Engineer, reported that roadwork in the cemetery consisting of
the entrance driveway from Embry Path, internal roads and maintenance area are complete.
Additional utility work has also been completed. This work included installation of two
additional yard hydrants and protective bollards. Storm drainage structures were added
along with additional conduit during the roadwork phase. Curb and gutter concrete work
and final paving will be completed later in October. The south boundary fence was
installed this fall. Staff plans to complete seeding of the graded areas yet this fall.
B. Activity Report
MOTION: of T. Grawe, seconded by N. Anderson, accepting the Activity Report for
Second and Third Quarter. Motion passed unanimously.
C. Maintenance and Grounds
Mr. Glewwe reported that maintenance work included having to repair the irrigation
system as a result of construction damage prior to shutting it down for the season. Staff
has lots of restoration work to do yet this fall, weather permitting. The construction wark
required staff to attend several meetings with contractors while work was being done at the
cemetery. Trees will not be planted around the parameter of the cemetery until the fence is
complete which is planned for 2019.
D. 2019 Meeting Schedule
MOTION: of J. Hoeskstra seconded by D. Brueshoff, to accept the 2019 Meeting
Schedule as proposed. Motion passed unanimously.
5. COMMUNICATIONS /UPDATES
Members reviewed Cemetery articles in the Fa112018 Cit.�.
6. OTHER BUSINESS

MOTION: of D. Kemp, seconded by T. Grawe, to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed
unanimously.
