October 18, 2011- 2:00 p.m.

COMMITTEE MEMBERS PRESENT: Nancy Anderson, David Brueshoff, Noel Hammill,
Dave Kemp, Alan Kohls, Gary Wagner
COMMITTEE MEMBERS ABSENT: Paula Moore
OTHERS PRESENT: Cemetery Supervisor Mike Glewwe
Cemetery/Public Works Coordinator Jean Bryant
The meeting was called to order at 2:00 p.m.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
MOTION: of Wagner, seconded by Brueshoff, approving the agenda for
today's meeting as written. Motion passed unanimously.
AUDIENCE — 10 MINUTES TOTAL TIME LIMIT FOR ITEMS NOT ON THIS AGENDA
There was no one present to speak.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES — July 19, 2011
MOTION: of Kemp, seconded by Anderson, approving the minutes of
the July 19, 2011, meeting, as written. Motion passed unanimously.
NEW/CONTINUED BUSINESS
Activity Report
Ms. Bryant stated an error was corrected in the second quarter report by adding one more
double boulder sale. During the third quarter, there were 29 sales, 12 burials, 4 title changes,
4 transfers, and no returns to the cemetery.
Maintenance and Grounds
Mr. Glewwe reported maintenance in the third quarter consisted of routine upkeep,
removal of four dead trees on the east side, removal of unapproved memorials, and much
watering of trees. Upcoming preparation for winter includes plant cleanup, aerating, and
dormant seeding.
Walkway and Irrigation System
Mr. Glewwe updated the committee on concreting of the boulder area path, and the water
tie-in for irrigation.
General Price list Update
Ms. Bryant proposed increasing the Single Boulder to $3,360 and to $1,680 for the
Resident Rate; and increasing the Interment/Opening Fee for Traditional Adult Vault to
$870 and Cremation Vault to $425.
MOTION: of Kemp, seconded by Wagner, directing staff to submit the
changes to the City Council for approval. Motion passed unanimously.
Volunteer Thank-You Cards
Committee members signed thank you card ta the cemetery volunteers of 2011.
Committee members and staff expressed their appreciation of the assistance received from
the volunteers.
2012 Meeting Schedule
MOTION: of Hammill, seconded by Brueshoff, approving the 2012
meetings on January 17, April 17, July 17, and October 16. Motion passed
unanimously.
MAC Convention Report
Committee Member Kemp reported on the 88th Minnesota Association of Cemeteries
annual conference. Topics included what people want in death care; cremation trends;
landscape maintenance; memorialization options; and cemetery property transfer, sale, and
repurchase.
OTHER BUSINESS
City News Article
Members reviewed articles on preplanning cemetery arrangements and thanking volunteers
which were published in the Fa112011 Citv News.

MOTION: of Hammill, seconded by Brueshoff, to adjourn the meeting.
Motion passed unanimously.
