Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chair Arthur Zimmerman. Members Present: Linda Dolan, Charles Grawe, Dave McKenzie, Joe Shaw, Arthur Zimmerman Members Absent: Nick Francis, Matt Saam Consultants/Alternates Present: Brandon Anderson Others Present: 2. Approval of Agenda MOTION: Mr. Grawe moved, second by Ms. Dolan, to approve the agenda as presented. Motion passed 5-0. 3. Audience Items There were no audience items. 4. Approval of May 12, 2021 Minutes MOTION: Mr. Grawe moved, second by Mr. Shaw, to approve the Minutes of May 12, 2021. Motion passed 5-0. 5A. Review of Driver Feedback Sign Data Mr. Anderson provided a brief review of the collected data. Signs on Guild recorded 851h percentile speeds between 20 and 23 miles per hour. Signs on Pennock recorded 85th percentile speeds between 32 and 35 miles per hour, indicating a speeding issue. They also recorded maximum vehicle speeds of 60 miles per hour. Signs on Whitney recorded 85th percentile speeds of 32 to 33 miles per hour. Whitney also had high maximum vehicle speeds. This data is being provided to the police department for enforcement efforts. 6A.Other Traffic Concerns Communicated to the City of Apple Valley Police Concerns There were no concerns reported by the police department. Public Works Concerns Mr. Anderson said he received a request for a crosswalk at 1471h Street and Haven Drive near WalMart. Engineering will study the intersection for the next meeting. Engineering will also be studying a crosswalk request at 152na Street between the Ford dealership and the public parking lot. Mr. Anderson said he received a request for no parking signs along Diamond Way. There is currently one sign for this loop roadway and additional signs would be clearer for drivers all along the road. Mr. Anderson said he has asked the County to review its slashing yellow signal configuration at 1401h Street and Pilot Knob. There are concerns that northbound drivers with the flashing yellow may not have adequate site lines to see oncoming southbound traffic. 6B.Educational Issues Ms. Dolan noted there a virtual Toward Zero Deaths webinar on August 3rd and the statewide conference will be October 131h and 141h. She also noted that the State now has a seat belt convincer machine to lend to cities for educational events. The State has several other educational games that can be used as well. 7. Adjourn MOTION: Mr. Grawe moved, second by Mr. Zimmerman, to adjourn. Motion passed 5-0. Meeting was adjourned at 7:35 p.m.
