A ribbon cutting ceremony will be scheduled with council, the private donor and the cemetery committee this year in the spring of 2022. B. 2022 Goals New Columbarium – Mr. Lathrop reported to the committee that the existing four columbaria has low inventory of niches available for purchase by interested cemetery patrons. Due to this, staff is working with vendors to develop a design plan and receive quotes for a series of new columbaria near the memorial burial shelter. This new columbaria is planned to be installed on the south side of the shelter and will have a different design aesthetic than is present in the existing four columbaria. New Spruce Trees – Mr. Lathrop communicated to the committee that Staff plans to add more trees to the existing row of spruce trees on the berm on the south side of the cemetery. Several area residents have requested that more trees are planted to complete the current line of trees and this is planned to be completed in 2022. MOTION: of J. Hoekstra seconded by D. Brueshoff approving the proposed 2022 Goals. C. Maintenance Update – Mr. Lathrop reported that several burials have taken place in the last few months.
