ITEM #5.A.
Old Business - Cedar Isle Estates - Park Land Development.
Larry Frank of Arcon Development has requested information that
he can pass along to the new residents of the Cedar Isles
development as to what type of amenities the park will include.
Park land includes the piece of property to the north of the
island, the island and a piece of property south of the island.
A trail has been installed in the northern section by the
developer, the two connecting bridges from the island have been
constructed, and the southern section has been seeded.
The size of the park limits the amenity possibilities. Staff
proposes a playscape, an informal playfield area, a basketball
playpad area, and a sand volleyball court.
Current park dedication fund balance is approximately $200,000.
MOTION: by Charlie Maus, seconded by Royal Bakke to
recommend City Council approval of park
dedication fund expenditures for installation of
an asphalt play pad and a sand volleyball court
at Cedar Isle Estates park, with installation of
a playscape in the spring of 1997.

Other - Senior Center Dedication at Noon Potluck Tuesday,

senior center project was from Federal Grant money.

Mr. Bakke stated that he feels the Apple Valley Senior Center is
one of the finest he has seen. He believes the President is
very progressive; and it was money well spent on the building of
this facility.
