Architects in designing structural footings for the first of the planned columbaria. Coldspring,
who is manufacturing the columbarium, is hoping to install the first columbarium in May or
June of 2023.
Mini Excavator – Mr. Lathrop communicated to the committee that in 2023, a mini excavator
will be purchased for use at the cemetery and for other City needs. The mini excavator will
allow staff to complete in-house digs for traditional burials. Last fall, staff attended a demo
and completed a dig at the cemetery, which went well. The initial cost of the mini excavator
is estimated to be around $87,000 which will be split among three divisions but will save $850
per traditional burial dig.
MOTION: of D. Kurtz seconded by D. Brueshoff approving the proposed 2023 Goals.
B. Maintenance Update – Mr. Lathrop reported that due to heavy snow, there has not been
an opportunity for maintenance and cleanup of non-regulation items. Any non-regulation
items that are present are buried by the snow. The road within the cemetery has narrowed
due to the snow, but staff are currently working to remove the snow build up.
