should be stab.lized.
Th k.ind of structre that would be bui7.t if the brn were tcrn down wauld
probably ae a lare pavillion that includes restroams.
Mr. Ii1.er felt that i.f the Barn cauld be stabili.ed ta became a fuaet.anal

Mr. Naeeli felt tha.t it wculd take 74yQ4 to sabil.ze the structure pls

Mr. Langaer {whc telephoned Mr. Naeeli priQr a the neetin) stated that he

Mr. Naee13. sai.d that he felt the Cammitee would n4t mind rstprin the Barn

Ms. Sterl.n--fels n cf the buildfns at Farquhar he tc be 'unctional.
The farm hazse, sumer k3.tche and milk house should nct be kpt. Th chicken,
coap and the BarneQUld be kept. But .f th Barn is kpti she wants o be

up the barn tc put in a new foundaticn, ;ou wculd nct have the orig.na, bars
any way--perhaps .t would be best to build new buildin tc look like a barn.
A.ythi.n at Farquhar shou7.d be functianal--.f any other buiida.ns are movd
there hey taa sheaulc. be funcional. Where are we tc get th moner tca restore
these buildins? he stated that we should not eep anythin there except the
chicken caop; a, new structure should be built on th area where tle Bar. ncw is.
Ms. Milc»-wauld love td keep the Barn bu has the fe2an if $?4C?(7.a exe

If she could see in the future something cculd be done wih it, she would like
to keep it. he dae$ f.2 that th Barn ec,uld be fznctianal,; ptieularly in
the summer cQUld it be usd for man varicsu activataes. Ifhe es.mate are

has ta b a.d. urp].us funds from the Bond Isue shou7.d nQt be ured far
anrthin cathr thaa he oriinal, intent--if the i.ntent i rc,t nut].ined :n the
Bond Issue the mcaney shtuld p back tc the Peaple.
Mr. Naeeli--when the Bcand Issue was soldy they did nct say specifially the
Barn wauld b retnxd. He feels 3t would be nice to have the Barn, bu.t fse.s
hi,n,gs have chaned.. He could not ustify spendin ?f?td.OEJ to keep the
Barn standin. There is no reasdn to keep the arm house; th* chieen hozse
eould be kp fcr a stcrage faaility. In that part rsf tpple V11ey Farquhar
vi1.1 probably be ane of cu two most used prks. If arly $44!5,0.00 left
in the Park Bcnd Issue, cre mbne shau3.d be pent at Farquhar fcr a bier
fu1.1 f1.eded park. He feel.s there wauld be an. 3ns3.rificant amtunt a mcaney
1.ft from the Bcnd Issue to return to the peaple, s4 it sh+uld be ued for the
Parks.
Mr. Mi1.1er--staed ,at h had been one of the outspaken prcpcnenta of retaring
he Barn at Farquhar, bu that i.t seems econoicall unfeaibie to salvae the
Barn. t3f the fcar strzetures being considered for sava.n (Barn House 01,d
Tawn Ha.1, SG1d0.1.C113'}, he fel the anly building w€rth sava.n 3.s the Barn.
Therefcre the Committee is reconsidering their sand on the h.storical there
at Frq,uhar; and it appears that he Ba.rn and House wa.1.1. hve o be tQrn down.
He d+es nct fee3 that the 41d Town Ha7.l and Scho€lhouse shculd be brau'ht in
at Farquhar--to ta.ke up valuable real estate wath old build.ng is nct scmetha.n
the City would be wa.se in dcin,. Farquhar will sarneday be srvin large nmbers
cf peopl.e he faresees.
As. Milo ar;ed 10t1`; wa.th Mr. Miller and feels especial].y anr that the fld
