PARK COMMITTEE MINUTES
MARCH 7, 1979

PRESENT: Ellen Milos, Bob Naegeli, Joanne Hollenbeck, Ginny 5terling & Dave
Miller (arrived at 8:00 p.m.) .
ABSENT: Carolyn Rodriguez & Joe Bell (Bell was attending the Chamber of Commerce
meeting on the Park Bond Issue with Mike Bassett) .
Vice Chairman Sterling called the meeting to order.
The Co�nittee agreed to meet at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 1979 to put up the
signs.
The display boards will be up at Apple Valley Square from March 12 through the 20.
The Park Committee will be present at the Shopping Center to answer questions and
promote the bond issue on Friday and Saturday. The Puppet Theatre will also be
at the Shopping Center on Friday and Saturday. There was considerable discussion
on who will be working at the Center and the times -- Ginny, Bob, Jo�.nne and Ellen
will be available from 4:00 to 9:00 on Friday evening. Saturday someone will be at
the shopping center from 10:00 to 2:00 or 3:00 p.m.
There was considerable discussion about answering questions from residents regarding
the components of the bond issue. The Park Committee members requested an updated
� list of the proposals for each park so that they can answer questions.
(Dave Miller arrived at 8:00 p.m.)
The Park Committee will meet on March 13, 1979 at 7:30 p.m. to discuss their plans
for the Meetings scheduled for March 15 and 18, 1979. At that time the flyers
will be distributed.
Dave Miller asked about the Committee setting up a booth or passing out flyers at
several different events. Ellen Milos stated that she will do some promotion at the
Panorama of Bands.
The Committee discussed cookies, coffee, napkins, etc. for the Open House sessions.
Minutes of the February 27, 1979 meeting were approved as written.
There was some discussion on the information received from the VAA. Bob Naegeli asked
about the number of families involved in the program. Joanne Hollenbeck stated that
in 1977 there were 1,700 families -- she is not aware of the numbers for 1978.
A get together for Election Night was also discussed.
MOTION: of Milos, seconded by Miller that the meeting be adjourned.
