Thanks to Rod and the crew for their good work. Consider Amendment to the Cemetery Advisory Committee By-Laws Chair Anderson pointed out three proposed changes to the committee by-laws: Section III. Replace "Dakota County" with"City of Apple Valley" as committee member residency requirement. Sections VII. B. and C. Replace "City Hall" with "the Municipal Center" as the meeting plaee. Chair Anderson expressed his opposition to the committee residency change. It is too restrictive. People from surrounding communities have interest in the cemetery and have loved ones buried there. A diversity of inembers has been beneficial for the committee. Having only members who are Apple Valley residents would limit the pool of interested applicants. Chair Anderson stated Committee Member Wagner has been a valuable member of the cemetery committee for many years. Committee Member Raiche would like the committee's opposition expressed in strong terms. Committee Member Kemp would like to know what the City Council was thinking; he is opposed.
