HomeMy WebLinkAbout05/03/1979 CITY' OF APPLE VALLEY URBAN AFFAIRS COMMITTEE MINUTES MAY 3, 1979 PRESENT: Chairman Dorothy Regis, Committee members Dick Edwards, Hank Myers, Clint Dixon; Rick Kelley, Planning Assistant. ABSENT: Bill Smith and Joan Goering, Chairman Regis called the meeting to order. The Committee would like to have a new member appointed to the Committee to replace George Hecker. Dorothy Regis will contact the Council Liaison Bill Holton. Chairman Regis questioned the Parking Ordinance which has received so much publicity lately. In 1975 the Committee proposed the ordinance to the Council and the Committee was trying to recall some of their discussion at that time. Dick Edwards asked if there had been a change in the ordinance regarding compost piles. There was some discussion and no one was aware of a change. The Committee spent the remainder of the meeting working on a draft of the Bingo Ordinance. Attached is a copy of what has been completed to date. Rick Kelley reported that he spoke to Mary Mueller regarding the costs for the bingo licensing. She stated that $50.00 to $100.00 should cover the costs. The staff at City Hall feels that an annual fee would be most desireable because if a charge were made for each occasion there would be additional paper work. The Committee after some discussion agreed that they would recommend a license fee of $100.00. A one time occasion could be exempted from the fee by the City Council. The Committee agreed to talk to representatives of the Lion's Club and ask for their input when they have completed a draft of the ordinance. The Lion's Club does operate bingo games at Westview during the winter. The Committee will continue work on this ordinance at their next meeting on May 17, 1979. Meeting adjourned.
