ORDINANCE NO. 1127
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF APPLE VALLEY, MINNESOTA,
AMENDING CHAPTER 155 APPENDIX F, ARTICLE 2 OF THE CITY CODE
REGULATING GROUND SIGNS WITHIN PLANNED DEVELOPMENT
DISTRICT 290,ZONE 3
The City Council of Apple Valley ordains:
Section 1. Chapter 155, Appendix F-Article 2 of the Apple Valley City Code is amended
by revising Section A2-5 (A)(6)to read as follows:
(6) Signs. Except as provided herein, Signage shall be in accordance with Chapter 154
of the City Code except that the foundation or support structure of a freestanding sign must be
completely enclosed, and such enclosure shall have an exterior facing consisting of materials
which shall match the exterior construction materials of the primary building with which it is
associated and serves to identify. In Zone 3 of this Planned Development, freestanding ground
signs shall comply with the sign regulation in Chapter 154 and the above foundation structure
requirement, except the following height and sign area restrictions shall apply: (1)the height of
the sign shall not exceed 16 feet; and(2)the total sign area shall not exceed 80 square feet.
Section 2. Effective date. This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and the
publication of its title and the official summary.
