URBAN AFFAIRS COMMITTEE MINUTES
MAY 18, 1978
PRESENT: George Hecker, Bill Smith, Dorothy Regis, Dick Edwards, Rick Kelley
ABSENT: Hank Myers, Clint Dixon, Joan Goering
Chairman Hecker called the meeting to order.
Minutes of the May 4, 1978 meeting were approved as written.
The Committee agreed to meet on the following dates this summer:
Thursday, June 1, 1978.
Thursday, July 20, 1978.
Thursday, August 17, 1978. li
They will resume two meetings a month in September.
Rick Kelly presented a "Model Group Home Ordinance" which would provide an amendment I
to the present "Zoning Ordinance."
The Committee members discussed the proposed ordinance and definitions. Attached
is a copy of the proposal . The printing in italics is that included in the present
"Zoning Ordinance."
At �he next meeting -- June 1, 1978 at 7:30 p.m. - the Committee will discuss the
following:
Under present laws, the City appears to have ability to infinitely regulate
those group homes and larger care facilities not licensed by the State.
The question arises, are there any specific uses the City desires to prohibit
completely when not mvnitored by the State?
