�d Definition
TheUrban Affairs Committee is an ad hoc advisory co�ittee of the City Cauncil.
II. Purpose . '
The purpase of theUrban AffairsCommittee is to advise the City Council in
relation to: See IV.

III, Membership
TheUrban Affairs Committee consists of (tnree) (five} seven members. Members
must be City of App1e Valley residents. Me�bers shail serve terms as specified
. by thc City Cotcncil Reso].ution �To. .1977- 21
IV. Duties and Responsibilities - �
Subjects of a general nature not within the scope of activities of
other commissions or committees. Activities us�ally centered on the
�, preparation or amendment of ordinances dealing with the subject. � Commitfiee

�T. Organization _
A. Organiaational Meeting: The first �eeting of each year shall be an organization�
meetinge - j,
�. Chairperson. The chairperson shall pre5ide over a11 neetings �.nd shall prepare :`
agendas for each meeting in advance. It sha1Z be the resgonsibility of the
chairperson to assign specific tasks to members of the committee as de�med
� necessary. The chairperson may establish subcosnittees to carry out the �
programs of the committee and appoint nembers to liasan duties with other
` commissions and com�itrees. .
C. Viee-Chairperson. The rrice-chairperson shall preside over meetings in the '
absence of the ch�irperson, and shall perform the duties of the chairperson
wh�n the chairperson is unable to perform such �utieso

VIo Attenc3ance at Meetings
Regular at�endance at meetings by all �embers is necessary if the Cammittee is
to effecti.vely discharge its duties and responsibilities'.. It is incumbent upon
each member to attend regularly. If. a me.nber is unable to attend regularly, -
that member sh��sl.d either ask for leave of absence or resiga. If a member
misses three conseeutive meetings without ha�;i:�a a valid excuse, that member
may be recoammended to the City Council for removal fsc�u: the Committee. In the
event of continued absence by a member, the chairpersan may, with the conse�t
to the oth�r memb�rs of t?�e Comaittee, request that the City Conx�ci3. terminate
the appointment of the abseatee member.

. VII. Meetings
A. Date and Time: The date and tine of regular �eetiugs shall be established
by the Committee at its organizational meeting.
_ B. Place: Meetings shall be heZd in the Apple Valley City Hall.
C. uoru�t; A quoru� sha12 be aecessary to conduct �eetings. A quorum neans
- a ma3ority of the appointed ne�,bers of the co�ittee.
D. Condu�t oE Meetings: Roberts Rules of Order shall prevailo
